GREAT SPEAKERS!:  Jane Poynter, Biosphere 2 Astronaut gave an amazing talk about her Two Years and Two Months in the 3.5 acre complex just north of Tucson, Az.  Some of us noticed that Jane is also engagingly charming, British accident and all.  [Good job Dan] Tucson Fire Chief Dan Newbern will be presenting our next program on May 16th.

Jr. CIVITAN CLUB CHARTERED:  The Tortoise Junior Civitan Club at Academy Middle School was Chartered on April 27th.  Theresa Cisler, Matt Nichols, Kathy Spude, Dan Spahr & Wendell Whitaker presided.

17th ANNUAL CRESTA LOMA GOLF & CIVITAN CLUB TOURNAMENT, May 12:  Carl Mangelsdorf always does a spectacular job with this event, again this year at Quail Canyon, 303 W. Rudasill Rd.  All members are encouraged to attend and help out with registration, raffle tickets, the U. of A. Basketball raffle, posting scores, marshalling the $10,000 hole-in-one event, on and on.  The prize to player ratio is fantastic.  This event is always one special highlight of the Roadrunner Civitan Club year.

KUAT – PBS TV 6 in Tucson, Az.  This is probably our club’s most visible project.  May 31st we will be answering the pledge lines on TV and eating pizza.  KUAT is always a fun evening, bring your spouses/guests.

ROADRUNNER CLUB SOCIAL, June 15th!  Mark your calendars for this fun evening at the Tucson Racquet Club, at the north end of Country Club Rd.  A great selection of food is available at moderate prices.  There is no truth to the rumor swimming is clothing optional!
